I want to show my students that first photo the next time I hear someone teasing becasue someone else doesn't have the "right" brand of shoes. Makes me so sick...

Thank you for the timely reminder It makes me so sad and with global warming and fuel price hikes - its only gong to get worse.

Just a little thought - What do you think of the idea of a luxury tax that goes to developing countries

I have seen those bottle shoes before I shall try and remember the source

This really brings it home. My husband is a shoe developer. He is the first one to remind me that in MANY places across this wonderful planet, shoes are NOT THE NORM. In Brazil, children often do not have shoes and even play soccer barefoot. We are blessed in so many ways!

Simply amazing. The person in the top picture is probably just so happy that they have shoes and they're probably so proud of them. It's just mind blowing how far apart we really are. Thank you for that comparison.
