What's cool....

Very cool: Making your dd a pattern from scratch, with just a set of measurements, and a couple of tools.

Not so cool: Marking the patterns with the tracing wheel, on the hardwood floors. *cough* Yeah.

Very cool. What is the pattern for? You always make the cutest things for her!

I'm impressed, I am not confident enough to make my own patterns yet. I do a good enough job of messing up commercial patterns as it is LOL Can't wait to see the finished product.

Dear M,

You are one multitalented woman you know.

Where did you learn to make patterns?

I was jsut talking about this with my girlfriend yesterday

That is one thing I would love to learn to do. Is it difficult - could you do a post on how to make a pattern ( ha as if making a pattern could be learnt in one post . ok - well a couple of posts?)

hugs bug

Felicity-I took a couple of terms of a patterndrafting course, from a slightly scary very strict Japanese lady. :p The principles themselves, are not spectacularly hard to understand, since it's just basic A to B to C, but the execution seems to be really tricky, lol. I can follow the instructions, and if I do it right, I can come out with a workable pattern. If I do it wrong, I have no freaking clue what is going on. I am still a total noob...but with perseverance, I figure I can make a COUPLE of useable things, right? lol
