Well, THAT didn't work...
My first foray into marble magnets was...less than spectacular. :/ Blurry images (they looked WAY better before!!), bubbles, offkilter glass to magnets, and glue everywhere. Sad.

I don't think they are failed. The look of blurness gives them a more special look. I like them. If you insist on clear look, you should change your marbles ;)
Tatting is really easy, just doublestitch and picots ;) It needs some practice to have good result. I can recommend you some books or there are some good videos in you tube too.
